I've never done the master reset so I don't know. Would the master reset also reset the frame count? In reality they bear very little meaning about the future (or past, often) of your camera. There is a great deal of emphasis placed on these counts by camera owners. Generally, cheap Canon cameras have about 100,000-200,000 shutter releases, while some advanced models can have up to 400,000 actuations. This allows you to understand the condition of your camera and predict failures. I've never heard of one resetting itself, but then glitches in anything electronic never surprise me too much. It shows how many shutter actuations your camera has (more simply, the number of photos that your camera has taken). Image counts can be reset by knowledgeable persons and are routinely reset by repair centers after certain types of services. If you take a jpg straight from the camera (don't import it into lightroom or any other editing software) what does the EXIF say for image count?

I also see that she has added a lot of information to the EXIF data, and so I wonder if the image count has been changed in software somehow.

And her image posted this morning was at 454. the images in her stream back in September were up in the 32000s. If the shutter count is reset, somthing wiers has happened :P Image number might be reset from the menu but is only used for filenaming (i.e. Check the exif in PS or any other exif viewer and look for field 'shutter count'. Your last uploaded photo shows something like 451 or smt. I think the EXIf is the only place you can find a field called 'shutter count' If that is the same field that is renamed by PS to 'Image Number' then you're right. I think scubajunkie means which value do you compare. What do you mean? It was 32500 before and now its counting 651, as I said. It was reset at 32500 shots and has been counting from 0 again and is now at 651.
